How to play Snake & Bite
- Swipe anywhere on the screen to steer. The snake never stops moving.
- Eat the red food to grow and score. Longer snakes score more per bite.
- A shield pick-up absorbs one crash while its bar is running.
- Classic wraps at the edges. In the other modes the edges are walls.
Modes and speeds
- Classic: no timer. Play until you bite yourself. The edges wrap around, so you come out on the other side.
- Challenge: walls, hazards and power-ups.
- Time Attack: three minutes. Score as much as you can before the clock runs out.
- Speed: pick Slow, Medium or Fast.

Tips for a higher score
- Keep open space ahead. A long snake runs out of room fast. Steer towards the emptiest part of the board, not straight at the food.
- Move in wide loops. Sweeping up and down in lanes keeps your tail in a tidy line instead of a knot you can trap yourself in.
- Use the wrap in Classic. In Classic the edges wrap, so going off one side is a quick way round your own tail.
- Save the shield for late. A shield absorbs one crash while its bar is running, which matters most when the snake is long and every bite scores more.
- Start on Slow. Learn the swipes on Slow, then move up to Medium and Fast once turns feel automatic.
Personal best
Snake & Bite keeps your personal best, so each run has something to beat. Longer snakes score more per bite, which is why the last minute of a good run is worth more than the first.
Which mode should you play?
New to the snake game online? Start with Classic. There is no timer and the edges wrap, so you can learn to steer without hitting a wall. When you want a quick burst, try Time Attack: three minutes, and the highest score wins. Challenge is the hardest of the three, with walls, hazards and power-ups to deal with, and it is where the shield earns its place. Whichever mode you pick, the speed is your choice too.
